Home cuisine and the traditions of Chad intersect and borrow a lot from France. This is a tribute to the colonial past of Africa.

The basis of local dishes is meat, bread which is similar to the French baguette, poultry meat. Porcine (pork) is not popular here because of religion. Native residents serve all the dishes chili, the same thing do their neighbors. It is not recommended to ordinary people to eat these dishes in such form.

Familiar local dishes are the home-made kebab, cutlets from various types of meat, including lamb meat, beef meal. Fish is not very popular because of the lack of access to the ocean. But there are enough fish from the local lakes and rivers. Fish is also cooked here, as everywhere else: it is smoked, marinated, boiled, fried, etc.

The most common dish from fish here is okra, which is fried with vegetables. Also, we recommend you try draba fish, salanga. Here, people almost every day eat soup with beans and peppers.

For garnish to fish people serve rice, corn and lentils.

In this country, a lot of home-grown fruits are grown. People use them to cook delicious desserts. Fruits are very popular. Here are the best watermelons, melons, citrus fruits, mangoes, etc.
