In Saudi Arabia, the traditional cuisine for all Muslim countries of Asia was formed, influenced by both the weather conditions and the religious beliefs of local residents.

One of the peculiarities is the fact that the names of essentially the same dishes are different because of different languages and dialects of a number of people living next door, the dishes themselves are virtually identical.

In home-made food, local people use lamb, beef, poultry, eggs and, of course, seafood. Usually meat in Saudi Arabia is cooked in a frying pan, without fat, or fried on coal. Local people like meat, cooked on a spit, shish kebab, meat mixes from more than forty names of meat, pilaf, meatballs from chopped meat and many other dishes.

For dinner it is popular to have various kinds of thick soups with rice, noodles, potatoes, etc.

Since Muslims do not consume pork for religious reasons, they have mastered a huge number of dishes from a bird. So, often a chicken dajaja, chicken with honey and steamed, rice with slices of stewed chicken, shish kebab from poultry, various kinds of pastes, and also many authentic dishes are often served to the table.

Local side dishes are presented by rice, greens, as well as salads with spices and seasonings. Tourists are advised to try the lettuce salad, consisting of local farm products such as greens, lemon, tomatoes, cucumbers, olive oil, rusks.

In local and domestic cuisine spices are widely used: onions, garlic, peppers, nuts, herbs, cinnamon, etc. From spices prepare all kinds of sauces, from spicy to sweet. On the home table, local people can always find dates and figs. In the dish, vegetable oils such as olive oil, sesame oil are added.

One can say that the Arabs know a lot about great desserts. They are really amazing, tasty, natural and at the same time useful. So, for the dessert they have candied fruits, nuts, pudding with pistachios, milk pudding with raisins, baklava and other dishes.

Local residents are very fond of sour-milk products, which in the country a huge number.

Of course, coffee plays an important role in the life of Saudi Arabia. It is a drink, which is convenient when you talk to friends, discuss family problems and just relax after eating. There are a lot of varieties of this wonderful drink. Locals like Arabian coffee with cardamom. Throughout Saudi Arabia, in every home and family, coffee is prepared immediately before you start drinking it. Some people of the country love to make coffee on an open fire in a large kettle, where water is brought to a boil, as a result, the coffee turns out to be very strong and tasty.

Alcohol is not consumed in the country.
